It works just fine for me. I wonder why Phenix didn’t get ported to the 64-bit MenuetOS. :)

I built a primitive O/S for practice back in the early 90′s. 32-bit protected mode, pure assembly and screaming fast. I learned alot about memory management, privilege levels and direct hardware control.
It was only ever destined to run on my machine so I could cycle-count for things like bus controller access that would be totally non-portable.
The kernel size was something crazy like 48K, yeah, that’s “K” bytes – no fat boys here!

Unable to open iso. It says ‘Invalid or unknown image file format’. Tried several downloads.

Were you running it on a 32-bit machine?
You may want to test it out on VirtualBox first – it should load with no problems.
