		<description>I built a primitive O/S for practice back in the early 90&#039;s.  32-bit protected mode, pure assembly and screaming fast.  I learned alot about memory management, privilege levels and direct hardware control.
It was only ever destined to run on my machine so I could cycle-count for things like bus controller access that would be totally non-portable.
The kernel size was something crazy like 48K, yeah, that&#039;s &quot;K&quot; bytes - no fat boys here!</description>
